How To Create Consistently Great Content Without Losing Your Mind

Creating high quality content on a consistent basis is one of the biggest challenges fitness business owners face when it comes to growing their brand, attracting high-quality clients and making an impact.

Your content is an accumulation of experiences and knowledge in solving a particular problem.

Rest assure, a lot of people are interested in what you have to say and are eager to consume your content, especially if it holds the answers to their biggest problems.

One of my mastermind students once said, “Content is currency,”

This is true.

Without high quality content – you’re invisible.

WHAT ARE THE COMMON ROADBLOCKS TO CREATING GREAT CONTENT?

There are a number of roadblocks that hold so many of fitness business owners back from producing content. These include,

  • Self-doubt
  • Uncomfortable speaking on camera
  • Not good looking enough
  • Can’t write well
  • Overwhelmed and don’t know which social media platform to post on.
  • Afraid of somebody trolling your content and making you look stupid.

As a result of all of this, your content production is ad-hoc and inconsistent. Consequently, you don’t build authority, and jeopardise your earning potential. Essentially, increasing your chances of going broke and returning to a nine to five.

I don’t think you want that?

You want your content to be loved and trusted.

You want people to share and comment on it.

Ultimately, you want your content to inspire prospects to invest and buy your products and services.

How can this be achieved?

All of this can be achieved with the right…Structure, Format and Platform

I want to share three important principles that you need to bear in mind when it comes to producing high-quality content on a consistent basis.

#1 PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTHS

If you’re good on video, use a social media platform that predominantly relies on the video like YouTube, Insta Stories or Facebook lives.

If you’re a great writer, use a platform that predominantly gets writing across in the best way possible. Think email, long form posts on Facebook or  Instagram; just make sure that you’re alining it up with a good quality photograph.

If you don’t like posting photos of yourself, use good quality stock.

If you’re not good on camera or you don’t want to use stock images, then maybe look at using infographics. A number of my clients have grown their social media followings by 10, 20 thousand, purely by using infographics. Just look at the likes of Carter Good or Jordan Syatt (Gary Vaynerchuk’s personal trainer). These guys have built their followings posting simple infographics on how to lose fat, build muscle and live a healthy lifestyle. They’re simply images from canva, placed on a grid that communicate a lot of value in a very simple context. As a result, people share them, other people read them and follow the original creator back.

If you hate video, pictures and writing. Audio is a great way to get your message across. If you’re great at interviewing or, great at doing solo casts you can get a lot of content out very quickly.

Your system for producing consistent high quality content should be aligned with your personality and communication skills.

The more high content you produce, the more trust you’ll build. Increasing the potential for sales, income and success.

#2 BATCH YOUR CONTENT

I highly recommend you adopt a schedule for your content creation. Pick one day in the week and dedicate it to content research and development.

By scheduling and batching your content you free up brain space and enhance your  productivity. When you’re working so hard in your business, serving clients, taking sales, etc. it’s very hard to come up with high-quality content all the time.

And we all know what it feels like when we don’t product content…

Guilty and anxious.

…which consequently distracts you from running your business.

Having a schedule and batching your content removes that stress.

When it comes to researching content ideas… keep a close eye on your competition’s account, the media and every other account your customer follows.

Use these sources to bank ideas and insights for own your content creation. Discuss what you find and share your own perspectives and insight.

Your target demographic always want to hear what you have to say.

#3 GET PERSONAL

Last but not least, mix your personal and business life together.

Your audience is not necessarily solely interested in the logistics or technical information behind your product or service.

They want to know the real you.

They want to know your struggles and wins.

People love having a leader. People love identifying and whenever you come across as a real unique, authentic human being, you’re trusted more.

If you’re too technical and too businessy, you get kinda boring after a while.

Most people don’t want to hear the technical science of calories, protein, and fat. They want to hear how you incorporate ‘your way of eating’ into everyday life.

Mixing personal/business content together makes for seriously interesting and engaging content.
